SUMMARY:ACT Trumbauer High School Festival 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Walter Trumbauer Festival has provided quality training and performance opportunities for Alabama theatre students at the high school level since 1940.  The festival consists of 33 individual events\, a one-act play festival\, a studio theatre play festival\, and group events —all for 9th through 12th grades. Students receive critiques from qualified theatre practitioners.  The Awards ceremony celebrates the best of the best.  The two top one-act productions advance to the SETC High School Competition.\n\nThe students attending the state festival have qualified from one of seven district festivals held throughout the state on November 2\, 2024.\n\nFunded in part by a grant from the Alabama State Council of the Arts and the National Endowment of the Arts.

DESCRIPTION:If you are considering bringing a show to present during the festival for adjudication\, please complete the online registration form (see link below) as soon as possible.  Please note that the registration form requires you to answer how many adults and children will participate in your production.  It is OK to give a close estimation of these numbers that can be adjusted before you make your final payment.  Once your online registration is completed\, you will be contacted and provided additional forms and information.  The festival can only accommodate a limited number of productions\, so you are encouraged to submit your show as soon as possible to secure your spot in the festival.  If you have questions\, please feel free to contact Cindy Harper\, Executive Director\, at 205-483-2282

SUMMARY:ACT Fall Summit 2022
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our annual Fall Summit that brings together theatre artists (educational\, professional\, and community) throughout Alabama to network and share resources. ACT membership is not required but encouraged.  (You must be a member to vote or be eligible for ACT committees or offices.)  If you need to join or renew\, please fill out the membership form below and bring it with you along with a check or credit card. (Or email or mail it ahead.) This will help speed up the check-in process. We hope to see you there. \nWe will be following appropriate safety protocols as set by ASF. At this time\, a mask is not required\, but if you feel more comfortable wearing one\, be our guest. \nAfter opening remarks and introductions\, we will have two guests speaking with us: \n\nGreta Lambert\, Deputy Artistic Director\, ASF will talk about their education programs\nKristy Meanor\, Artistic Director\, Wetumpka Depot Theatre\, will talk about the Penguin Project.\n\nNext up\, break-out meetings: These small groups allow for specific sharing within a particular area of interest: Community\, Professional\, Secondary/High School\, College/University\, or Theatre for Youth. After a boxed lunch\, we will gather back together for the afternoon session to present the ACT Awards\, share\, discuss ACT topics of interest to all\, hold our annual meeting\, and elect officers.
